In order to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller part # RED44FR on a 2012 Toyota Tacoma you'll need a few items which I have attached for you below:
Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc # RED49FR
Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob part # 331-TPSI-007
The harness allow you to plug the brake controller into the vehicle without splicing and the mounting panel allows you to use an existing switch panel for a factory look. This is an excellent option for your vehicle and absolutely the one I would go with if in your shoes.
