What is Minimum Clearance Between Fifth Wheel Overhang and Truck Bed Rails
Question:
I have 2021 2500hd chevy. reese 16k hitch purchased a forest river 240re impression 2022 the front sits high sets high when hitched front of 5th wheel is a little over 6inch inch clearance back of truck rail about five inches I would like to one hole down on reese hitch probably front to 5inch and rear not much less do you think that would work or should I leave trailer a little high and live with it

Expert Reply:
Between 4 and 6 inches is typically what is recommended as minimum clearance from trailer overhang to bed rails. If you can level your setup by lowering hitch where you'd have 5 inches you should be fine. Especially if you aren't in an area with a lot of steep elevation changes.
Another solution would be to lift the trailer suspension like with the Correct Track lift kit part # RR23QX which can give you either a lift of 1-1/4 inch or 2-1/4 inch. This will level the trailer and would give you better clearance.
