Max Line Pull From Side for EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver  

Question:

So the receiver hitch has a very load of 1000 lbs and pull strength of 10,000 lbs. what about a side pull while using a winch? Not all recovery’s are straight pulls . Thanks

I reached out to EcoHitch and they only tested the # EH59FR for straight line pull. More than likely the capacity remains at 10,000 lbs within a certain range side to side and up and down, much like the Curt # C31018 which also fits your 2014 F-350. Unfortunately, EcoHitch did not have that information available.

If you look at the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch, it has a line pull of 9,000 lbs. This is maintained with a 45 degree angle left or right from straight ahead, and a 15 degree angle up and down. See the figure below. If you go beyond these angles it will lead to an unknown capacity and you may damage the winch mount or the hitch.
