Adjustable Bracket And Coupler Recommendation For 7000 Lb Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have a Fulton coupler that I cannot find parts for. The locking mechanism is broken and is secured by 4 bolts 1inch from top to bottom bolt on center and 2.25inch from front to back on center. I have no problem replacing the entire assembly but wanted to make sure that there were not parts available. I have attached a couple of pictures. Almost forgot to add that I am not against a weld on adjustable coupler. The trailer can haul 7k lbs. Thanks :

We do carry some replacement parts for couplers, however we do not carry replacement parts that would work for the coupler you have provided pictures of. We do have some options for you to consider.
For an adjustable channel coupler, I recommend the Bulldog Cast Head Coupler, part # BDA256C0317. This coupler has fits a 2-5/16 inch ball. The channel I would recommend for this coupler is the Bulldog 5-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket for Cast Head Couplers, part # BDAC5000300. This channel allows 8 inches of vertical adjustment and has a 24000 lb weight capacity.
For an adjustable bracket and coupler that uses a 2 inch ball, I recommend the Bulldog Cast Head Coupler, part # BDA2005C0317. This coupler has a 5-position bracket and has an 8 inch adjustable height, with a weight capacity of 8000 lbs.
Since the photo you sent shows the trailer tongue measures 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches, the couplers we offer have a reduced weight capacity. One coupler like this I recommend is the Husky Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler, part # HT87074. This is made of corrosion resistant zinc-plated steel, fits a 2 inch ball, and has a weight capacity of 3500 lbs. It is a bolt-on or a weld-on installation. I have attached a photo with some of the dimensions shown for this coupler.
Please be sure to have the installation welded by a experienced welding shop.
