Recommended Tire Chains for Driving 2010 Honda Odyssey with 235/65/16 Tires on Lake Ice

Question:

We cant use chains on roads in MN. Im looking to use them when driving on frozen lakes when ice fishing. The traction on Odyssey is so bad, I get stuck on any little bit of snow on ice. Do you have a recommendation? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:

Honda recommends using Class S chains on the Odyssey, which means that the chains extend 15 mm or less above and to the inside of the tire for maximum clearance.

The Titan Chain Diamond Alloy Chains you referenced, part # TC1555 would be ideal. The chains are constructed of manganese alloy for toughness, and have square links for good bite in snowy or icy conditions. The diamond chain pattern offers superior stability in turns when compared to standard ladder-style chains. The chains feature integrated adjusters that ensure the chains maintain a good fit. Since you will be using the chains on ice and not pavement, they will not be subject to a lot of wear and you should get quite a bit of use from them.

I have linked you to our Tire Chain FAQ article, which you might find helpful.
