How To Choose Correct Replacement Leaf Springs for a Keystone Montana 5th Wheel

Question:

I am searching for new springs for my 5th wheel. I am in need of double eye leaf springs for a 7000 lb axel. I am also looking for a deep arch to raise the 5th wheel up so it is level with my truck. I have already adjusted the hitch in the truck and the kingpin to their max.

In order to find the correct replacement leaf spring for a trailer you first need to start by noting the type whether that be slipper or double eye. Then, you'll need to measure their unloaded length via jacking up the trailer. If the springs are worn they will measure longer than their replacement. Lastly, you will need to note the axle capacity which is found on the tag in the center of the beam. Please note, the number of leaves does not really denote capacity as leaves have different thicknesses. Once you have all this info you can choose the correct replacement from the list below. It looks like you have noted the type as double eye and the capacity as 7,000 lbs therefore all you need to find now is the length which is the most important one. The 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e64SR for example measures 24-7/8" long but I have attached our full selection below if that does not match up with what you need. The springs will need to be replaced in pairs.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to achieve more lift with new leaf springs. The only option for more lift would be an actual lift kit like the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit part # RR23QX.
