Weight of Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution RP66558 & Does it Get Added to Tongue Weight

What is the weight of all the components in RP66558? Is this weight typically added to the tongue weight of the trailer or would it be used in the payload of the tow vehicle? Thanks!

Good questions, and as far as the weight, I checked with the manufacturer and the total weight is 73 lbs for the Steadi-Flex you asked about, which is the following part number:
- Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66558
The Steadi-Flex # RP66558 does not count as tongue weight as it is essentially part of the hitch, but it does count against total payload, which you'll want to keep in mind. This is a very smart choice for a weight distribution hitch because it does such a superb job of controlling sway. It is designed for trailers with a total tongue weight between 400 lbs and 600 lbs and includes everything you need but the hitch ball.
For that, depending on the size of your trailer coupler you'll need either 2" Hitch Ball # 40038 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40005.
