Troubleshooting Voyager Brake Controller and Trailer Lights Not Working on 2006 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Controller is on a 2006 Silverado HD Im getting no LED light and no braking to the trailer. Also, the trailer lights are not working. Plug the trailer up to another truck and everything works fine so I know its my box that is not working right, its not the trailer wires.

On the Voyager brake controller, if no light comes on with a trailer connected that indicates a loose power connection or ground connection so you can check both of those to make sure they are securely attached.
Since the trailer lights are also not working that indicates to me a problem beyond just a brake controller issue. The easiest thing to check would be the fuses related to the tow package wiring. Use the owners manual to find their locations to check them and replace as needed. If the problem occurred suddenly this is probably the reason.
If all the fuses are good then the next step is to test the truck side vehicle connector with no trailer connected. You will need an assistant and a circuit tester such as # PTW2992 if you do not already have one. Have the assistant run through the light functions in the truck while you test the connector with a circuit tester.
If you get no signals then make sure the trailer connector is clean and free of corrosion inside and out and that it is grounded to a clean, bare metal surface. If you still do not get any signals then there is some issue with the tow package wiring between the connector and the power distribution box that you will need to track down and repair.
For the brake controller, there may be some connections that will need to be made under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains these under hood connections and the installation of a brake controller in general.
I have also linked FAQ articles on troubleshooting brake controllers and vehicle side trailer connectors for you.
