How To Keep My 5 Bike Rack From Flexing My etrailer Hitch On My 2019 Ford Transit T250
Question:
2019 Ford Transit Class 3 vs class 4 - I notice that some of the Class 3 hitches have a higher tongue weight capacity than the 4 - I have the Etrailer class 3 for my van and am noticing a lot of flex in the hitch itself that is creating unwanted behavior on my 5 bike bike rack vertical style. Im thinking the class 4 would be a little stiffer based on how its mounted and how its constructed but I wanted to see your opinion. I have a good video of the flex if it isnt clear.

Before switching over to class 4 trailer hitch like The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14012, I recommend using The Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories # 18050.
Using these straps will provide extra support for your hitch receiver when you use a hitch-mounted bike rack. It will help limit the torque placed on the hitch receiver by the bike rack.
Using this strap will evenly distribute the weight to stabilize the hitch accessory and to prevent bouncing. You're also only limited to the tongue weight of what your vehicle can handle.
If this still doesn't help you could switch to The Curt Hitch # C14012 which will mount differently then the class 3 hitch, even though it could have the same flex to the hitch after using your bike rack. .
I attached a review video link below.
