Parts Needed For Converting Grease Hub To an Oil Bath System On 3,500LB Axle  

Question:

my boat trailer now has greasable bearings.. i want to go to a oil bath system. do i have to hace a different hub to do this ? if so is there anything else i would need to buy 3500 # axle thanks

The Kodiak XL ProLube Kit # XLPROLUBE1980KIT is designed to work with most 3,500lb axles. It includes 2 oil seals for a 1.72" spindle, 2 caps for a 1.98" hub bore and a bottle of oil. I recommend getting new bearings and races which I will list below.

Inner Bearing # L68149
Inner Race # L68111
Outer Bearing # L44649
Outer Race # L44610
Tang Washer # 5-101
Cotter Pin # 165649

The Seal Puller # PTW1219 and Install Kit # PTW83020 will make replacing the components easier. I do recommend carrying an extra Plug # XLPROLUBE-PLUG and Oil # XLPROLUBE with the trailer in the event one of the plugs comes out and leaks any oil.
