Trouble Installing Draw-Tite Receiver On 2011 Kia Sorento With Corrosion In Factory Threaded Insert
Question:
The Hitch install threads on my 2011 Kia are totally rusted out. the frame has a good amount of corrosion but seems OK under the surface. What options do I have. Are there lag bolt type s I can use in the existing holes? Thanks

Expert Reply:
As the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75684 was designed and tested using the threaded frame inserts, it is the only acceptable method for mounting the receiver to your 2011 Kia Sorento. You may be able to tap the holes with a M10-1.25 tap to clean out the threads and be able to mount the receiver. But in the event the threads are to far gone they would need to be replaced with new weld nuts.
