Will A Wheel With A Larger Pilot Hole Still Fit If The Bolt Pattern Is The Same
Question:
I am in need of new tires and rims for my utility trailer and ran across your site that seems to have what im looking for my question is my current rims have a inside diameter of 3 1/2 for where it goes on the hub the ones I wanna purchase from you show them to be 4.25 hub size everything else will work I have a 6 stud with a 5 1/2 spread so the bolt patter is right but what im needing to know if the hub hole on the rims being a little bigger will matter as my lug bolt pattern matches and will be tightened down ?

Expert Reply:
As long as your wheels are not "hub-centric" and use conical-styled lug nuts your wheel will be centered by the lug nuts and still be compatible even though the pilot hole of the # AM34834 is bit larger than you need.
Because the pilot hole is different you would need to use a different center cap than your original wheels if you choose to install a center cap.
