To safely and legally flat tow a vehicle, you need 5 basic items, base plates, tow bar, safety cables braking system and indictor light wiring.
- Base Plate Kit, Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate, # RM-523193-5
- Tow Bar, Roadmaster Nighthawk, # RM-677 (this includes needed safety cables)
- Braking System, SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO, # SM99251 along with Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit, # RM-751489
- Wiring Kit, Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, # RM-152-LED
We highly recommend that you consult your vehicle specific owners manual for flat towing requirements of your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. Look under the listing of recreational towing for your vehicles power train configuration and trim package. Please note the linked product review and installation videos below showing the step-by-step process of installation for the recommended items above.
I have also linked a help article for high/low adapters as once all the components are installed you will want the tow bar to set at +/- 3" of level. This is to minimize excessive wear on front tires and steering components.
