Kit activates your RV monitoring system to alert you when the brakes of your towed car are being applied.Installed on a 2023 Equinox LT (AWD). I believe there may have been a change to the Equinox brake pedal assembly from prior years. Because of this, I was not able to get the switch located properly with the bracket that is included in the kit. I fashioned my own mounting plate from a piece of diamondplate which I bolted to the brake lever bracketry. This works great and is rock solid.
I purchased this as part of a package which included; Hitch and wiring for my 2022 Equinox, Base plate, Tow Bar, brake System and connecting air hose, break away cables, LED tow lights with wiring harness, and a trickle charger to keep the Equinox battery from going dead while I was towing it behind my class A RV.
I had etrailer do the install of all the components on my car and RV. All the workmanship was excellent and done in the amount of time they said it would take. Also because they did not have a video of this equipment being put on this year and model vehicle, I gave them permission to make a video(which added a extra day and a half to the install)and the installation was free. Everything has worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Etrailer is my go to for anything towing and also RV parts.
Worked well for my Demco Stay-in-play brake system. Video was very helpful.
difficult to install
Easy to install, works great.
I was disappointed to find out that I needed this kit instead of being able to tap into the cold side of my car's brake switch as I had done before. The kit was initially puzzling to get the parts oriented correctly in my car but when I did, it was easy to install and had worked fine. I had to put an air adjuster on my Brakemaster and had to balance the tuning on with the tuning on this switch. But it worked out and has given me no problems.

Complete kit. Relatively easy to install but like most newer vehicles, room to work under the dash is tight.
Instructions were great. Everything was exactly per the instructions. Bracket was perfect for my car. Would be 5 stars, but the fuse tap was wrong size. It came with a mini, but I needed a micro2. Had to order one at local auto store. Will get it Tuesday. You should have kits with different size fuse taps or include multiple sizes in common kit.

Everything wet well with this product. Seems like it should be offered when your ordering the tow kit itself. Had to order after the fact.
