What is the Correct Brake Controller Wiring Harness for a 2013 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I need to install my Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller in my 2013 Toyota Tundra double cab 5.7L V8. I would like to do this without splicing wires. My Tundra is equipped with the towing package and has the pre-wired harness under the dash. Will this cable #3040-P plug directly into this connector under the dash with the other end plugging directly into the back of the Tekonsha P2 controller so that I dont have to do any splicing?

Yes, if you are using a Tekonsha brake controller then you will use wiring harness # 3040-P. I have included a link showing a typical installation for you. The extra ground wire must be attached to a bare metal surface to complete installation because the factory Toyota ground is not sufficient for the brake controllers needs.

This is a plug and play type of harness. One end plugs into the controller, the other end into the factory connector. No splicing required for installation.
