How Does the Yakima Slim Shady Mount
Question:
Will the mounting clamps swivel in case I want to point the awning coming off the back of the vehicle? Or is there a product that will allow me to do that?

Expert Reply:
The Yakima SlimShady Awning, # Y36VR has clamps that mount to the cross bars of your roof rack. It can be mounted to either driver or passengers side but does not swivel to mount of the back of the vehicle. You can however add the Rightline Gear SUV Tailgate Awning, # RG44FR that attaches to your hatch door and includes 2 sandbags that keep the canopy's poles planted firmly on the ground, even in windy weather.
Or my preferred option, the Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning, # RR33200 for passengers side and # RR33100 for drivers side mounting. These awning options swing out and around from the driver/passenger side to the rear of your vehicle, providing of shade over an area of 118 sq. ft. This is an easy one-person setup with integrated drop-down poles.
