Expert Reply:

Because you still have the original Carrier air distribution box and thermostat in place, I recommend the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Carrier Setup, # ACCAR150.

This is designed to replace a Carrier air conditioner set-up using an adapter wiring kit that enables the AC to work with an existing, in-good-working-order Carrier air distribution box and thermostat. This new unit will also have a start capacitor. This is a great added bonus in that it helps to jumpstart the AC when the campgrounds power pedestal is strained due to heavy load, or when you are boondocking and want to operate from a generator. This is a bolt-on installation that includes wiring harness and mounting hardware.

If you care to add a heat strip, the Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners, # ACMHD is the proper part number.
