Wiring Brake Controller to Under Dash Wiring of 2021 Ford Ranger
Question:
The 2021 Ranger has 4 wires under the driver side dash near the fuse box for aftermarket trailer brake controllers. So far so good. I noticed that the Yellow 12v wire is ALWAYS hot. Its not switched with ignition, its always on. So if I lock my truck and leave it for a month, the brake controller will draw current the entire time. Is this a problem? Should I find a switched 12v source? Im using the Curt echo under dash I purchased from etrailer thank you!

We had the chance to install a brake controller in a similar Ranger as your 2021 model and when using standard brake controller wiring like with the # C51515 to install the Curt Echo Mobile # C27JR the yellow/orange goes to the black wire, the blue wire is going to go to the blue wire, the white wire is going to go to the white wire, and the violet with white stripe goes to the red wire.
