Can RockyMounts SplitRail LS be Left on Vehicle During Summer
Question:
Can I just leave it on my car for the summer or is that not recommended?

You can leave the RockyMounts SplitRail LS Bike Rack # RKY11404 on your vehicle during the entire summer, yes.
If you only plan on riding during the weekends or a few times a month then I do recommending taking it off just because you'll be exposing it to a lot more sun and elements than is needed and I wouldn't want you to wear down the rack that much faster. If you'll be using it frequently though (like every other day) I don't see a problem leaving it on. It ultimately boils down to you and how often you'll be using it vs how many times you want to move it.
We do have some alternative options for storing your bike rack if you'd like to avoid leaving it sitting on the ground when you aren't using it. The Kuat RackDock # KU54FR mounts to the wall so you can get it up off the ground, and the Rack Valet # HRRV-1 is a wheel mount option if you want to avoid installing something on your wall.
