Fuse Bypass to Flat Tow 2014 Chevrolet Traverse
Question:
I have a 2014 Chevy traverse and I saw with flat tow that there is a harness that is for bypassing the fuses that need to be pulled while towing and I was curious what it is.

What you most likely read about is the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles, # RM-76517 and # RM76514. The bypass for FMX fuse replaces your vehicle's FMX fuse and lets you prep for towing by simply flipping a switch, it bypasses the towed car's FMX fuse without draining its battery. The reason it is needed is because, when the car is set up to be in tow mode, you have to have the key in the ACC ON position to shift it into neutral. But once you have done so the key cannot be removed so you need to be able to shut the power off from the battery. The Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for (2) 20-Amp ATC/ATO fuses, # RM76514 works in conjunction with # RM-76517 to bypass the ATC/ATO blade-style fuses that also need to be pulled and are installed in a very inconvenient location. Please note the attached a product review and installation video where Shane walks through the whole process.
