When installing a trailer wiring harness on your 2015 Subaru Forester I recommend The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467. This harness is a simple plug and play wiring that plugs behind the driver side trim panel.
Depending on what trailer connector your trailer has you may also need The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7, which will make the 4 flat into a 7 round and a 4 flat with the additional wires to activate your trailer brakes.
If your trailer does have brakes you will also need a brake controller. The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90885 will help make your vehicle brakes and your trailer brakes more in sync with each other.
