Do You Need a Dedicated Power Wire for the Solera Smart Arm 12v

Question:

I have a carefree power 12V canopy now and want to go to a smart arm. Can I still use my rocker switch in my camper, the separate light switch and the smart arm panel without adding a direct constant power wire to the smart arm controller? I cant find a definite answer anywhere.

The Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC759404 does need a dedicated power wire. That being said, since you already have a powered system, when installing the Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC759404 you could use your current power wire as long as it is a 15 amp circuit. If it is not a 15 amp circuit then you would need to run a 15 amp circuit wire to the Solera panel.

The Solera switch part #LC285500 that you referenced was designed to fit all Solera power awnings so it would work well to give you an inside switch to extend and retract. This would not affect the batteries ability to charge either.
