Ball Mount Built-in Receiver that Will Raise the height of a Cargo Carrier for More Ground Clearance
Question:
Im looking for an extension like this one to elevate a hitch-packer or hitch mounted cargo rack much higher in the rear of a Tacoma for off road use. I want to raise it to maintain good ground clearance at the back of the cargo deck. Im wondering how much weight this could handle in terms of tongue weight and if you have any similar products that are longer and/or offer a second receiver in-line with the original receiver for the hitchpacker and a trailer. 2011 Toyota Tacoma, TRD 4 door, 4x4, 4.0 V6, Class IV hitch receiver.

Generally high-low adapters are for tow bar use only to flat tow a vehicle behind another vehicle. Sometimes they are rated for use with accessories but not normally for towing a trailer.
What I recommend is the multi-purpose ball mount # D210. The receiver will give you extra height and it can be used to tow a trailer at the same time. The receiver option has a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds and the unit as a whole has a tongue weight capacity of 750 pounds. This means that the weight of the cargo carrier and its contents cannot exceed 350 pounds and the combined cargo carrier and contents weight and trailer tongue weight cannot exceed 750 pounds.
I have included a link to a video review of this ball mount for you.
