Can I Use the Thule Xsporter # TH500XTB for a Roof Top Tent on My 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Short Bed?

Will the #TH500XTB be compatible with my 2012 GMC Sierra Crew Cab with short bed? I got a roof nest hard shell tent that I want to mount on it. Will it be a good fit and stable for the roof nest?

Yes! The Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - 450 lbs # TH500XTB fits your 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew cab with a short 5-1/2 foot bed. Apart from providing you with 450 pounds of dynamic maximum weight capacity, the Xsporter provides you with a static weight capacity of 800 pounds. The static weight capacity of the rack is the weight capacity when the truck is not in motion. This is important to consider since you will abide by this 800 pound maximum weight capacity with your tent. This 800-pound weight capacity is massive and is more capacity that is offered by most roof racks. I always recommend going with a ladder rack for a tent application.
As far as the compatibility with your tent on the Xsporter, I recommend making sure that your tent can attach to crossbars that measure 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" tall. Just to be sure, I suggest measuring your clamps on the tent to make sure they fit these parameters.
