Recommended Hitch Extender For Cargo Carrier On a Class A Motorhome
Question:
I would like to add this to my current class A coach. Problem is there is a ladder in the back and I need 14 inch clearance. Can I use your 7 inch hitch extender with this and will it still be strong enough and not cause undue stress on the carrier

The 7" Hitch Extender # HE06 can be used with the 23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier # CC-100 on your 2022 Tiffin Open Road Allegro class A motorhome. You will need to consider the weight capacity you are looking to carry with your cargo carrier to ensure that it is safe. The Extender # HE06 will reduce your receiver tongue weight capacity by 50% or up to 350lbs(whichever is less). With the carrier weight at 39lbs you will only be able to carry a maximum of 311lbs at most with this carrier if your receiver has a tongue weight capacity over 700lbs.
I recommend the Blue Ox Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver Adapter # BLU28XR as this will allow you to raise the carrier up on the back of your Tiffin. That will keep it away from road debris while also making it easier to load and unload gear without having to bend down as far to grab the items. You should also use the Quiet Hitch # RM-061 to remove the excess play/rattle in both the receivers to cut down on stress.
