How to Determine Trailer Axle Capacity to Find Parts to Add Brakes to Trailer

Question:

I got the measurement off the spindle of my axle. B is 1.73", C is 1.38", D is 1.063" so it looks like that will mean a 3500" Axle. So the brake drum assembly you recommended looks right to me, but that is only 1, not a set? 84546UC3-EZ Then these electric brakes would go with that, right? 23-468-469

We can figure it out with either the bearing numbers that are in your hub, or the diameter of your axle. Those are the most reliable ways to figure it out when there's not axle info sticker.

I also attached a help article to this page that details how to pick out the correct parts to add brakes to a trailer.

That is correct you do have a 3,500 lb axle so the hub/drum part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K that you referenced would fit. This is sold individually so you would need to order a pair. The correct brake assemblies are then the # 23-468-469 as well. To add a 7-way to the trailer the easiest solution is the Epicord Junction Box 7-Way kit part # 277-000141.
