Replacement Electric Brakes For Scamp Travel Trailer With 3,500 lb Axle
Question:
I have a 2019 Scamp 19-foot travel trailer. It has a 3500 lb torsion axle. I recently installed the following part: 270682 Lippert Components LCI Axle Riser Lift Kit - Diamond Torsion Axle - 1 Axle - 3-1/2 inch Lift. Im offering this information in the hopes it will help you to answer my question. Ive had the trailer for a couple years. It has a rubber cover on the hubs and I re-grease the hubs before every trip we tend to take longer, 2000-4000 mile trips. Now that the trailer has about 10000-12000 miles on it, I figure its time to replace the brake shoes. My problem is that I cannot determine which brake shoes to order. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

That info does help, thank you, and what we can do is get you a replacement electric brake kit for your Scamp trailer as opposed to just the shoes, as there's just no way to know what specific brakes you may have. Installing new assemblies is also a bit easier and gets you all new parts such as magnets, as they can wear down just like shoes. So if you're okay replacing the assemblies, you can choose either manual or self-adjust brakes for your Scamp trailer and 3,500 lb axle:
- Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # 23-26-27
- Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # 23-468-469
These come with the mounting hardware needed for installation as well, so you're all set with just the brake kit.
