I have a 12V ventline roof vent fan that is wired to a wall switch and has a manual crank to lift the hood. I need to replace the whole unit and interested in a powered lift instead of the crank. I assume this means additional wiring that doesnt exist in my RV today. What wires do I need to run or is there directions for how the powered lift is wired? Im looking at the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Powered Lift - 14-1/4inch x 14-1/4inch - Smoke.

Correct, the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan with Powered Lift, # V2119-603-00 will require use of the Wall Remote Switch for Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent, # VC0533-03-A in white, or VC0533-02-A for black face plate. The Ventline Ventadome, # V2119-603-00 has two sets of wiring pigtails, see the linked product video below. Each set will require a connection to the switch, you have the powered set but will need the circuit for the on/off switch to run parallel. Use Primary Wire, 16-Gauge, # DW02359-1 sold per the foot.

My recommendation is to the 12 VDC powered lift, 10 speed MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent, # MA00-07500K. This has a thermostat and remote in addition tot he 10 speed settings and built-in rain shield. The integrated rain shield prevents rainwater from entering your camper and allows you to open the vent and operate the fan in any weather. This eliminates the need to install a separate vent cover. As long as your current wiring is in proper serviceable condition, no additional wiring need to be run. Please note the linked product review and installation video below. This option will also be a far quieter fan option and move more air than the Ventline.

On the Ventline Ventadome wall switch part #V2119-3-533 the white wires are the ground wires. Both of the switches need to be grounded.
