Parts Needed to Activate 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 7-Way
Question:
Bought “plug and play” 7 pin for trailer ready truck. No 12 volt power on the 7 pin. No clue about the fuse location as the truck fuse diagram is not specific. Need it to keep trailer battery up.

Expert Reply:
A good portion of vehicles with 7-way wiring won't have the 12 volt accessory circuit active intentionally. Since the circuit is hot all the time at one point it seemed like having a wire with 12 volts on it all the time would cause a short or corrosion build up. So to activate this circuit on a truck you'd need 10 gauge wire like our part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot and a breaker like part # 9510.
