Compatibility of Kuat NV Bike Rack # NV12G with Curt Class I Hitch on 2010 Mini Cooper Convertible
Question:
I have a Curt hitch. Will the NV12G work with my setup if I use a stabilizer strap? I have 2 ebikes, each weighing approximately 57 lbs each without batteries.

The Kuat # NV12G is compatible with the Class I hitch used on your Mini Cooper Convertible, and if the weight of each bike is indeed under the 60 lb individual bike weight limit of the rack, the setup you propose should work well for you.
I would recommend using something like the Thule Quick Loop, part # TH529 in conjunction with the Curt stabilizing strap, part # 18050 You can close the quick loop in the trunk opening, and connect the hook on the stabilizing strap to the quick loop, so you would not need to worry about the metal hook scratching your vehicle. Or you could go with the etrailer tie-down kit that combines these two concepts # e36ZR.
