Recommended Slide-Out Awning For A 2012 Heartland RV Edge Travel Trailer

Question:

Hello I have a question about what size of slide topper awning I should get. From flange to flange my slide is 102.5 in or 8 foot 6.5 in wide. Im looking at the Solara slide out awnings and one is 8' 7" and the other option is 9' 1". From what I read the 8'7" one is what I should be getting but that gives me zero extra on each side which from what I read I should have a 2-3 Inches overhang on each side, but I also dont want to buy something that is too big. Can you advise?

Yes, you would want some overhang to prevent any leaves or debris from getting onto the roof of your slide-out, but you'll also want to ensure you have at least 5"-7" of clearance on each side to allow for the arms of the awning to fully close without coming into contact with anything.

Since you have a 102.5" flange to flange measurement you'll want the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000168108 or # LCV000163290 for white. This awning fits flange measurements from 98"-103" so it will be perfect for your 2012 Heartland RV Edge Travel Trailer.

If you do have something in the way and don't have 5"-7" of clearance on each side then you'll need to go down a size to the # LCV000168107 (black) or # LCV000163289 (white).
