Can Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains be Used on Gravel?
Question:
I see these tire chains are for on road only. Would they be useful on gravel?

The Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW2029C will work pretty much the same on gravel as they will on pavement. The difference between off-road and on-road really has to do with dirt and mud as opposed to a solid surface designed for a vehicle to drive on. Be sure to use the Rubber Adjusters # PW105 as well to help keep these cables snug against your tires.
If you plan on using chains often then I highly recommend using the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains XG12 Pro # TH01594240 for your 2015 Ford Escape instead of the cables. The XG12 Pro are Class S compatible for low clearance, they offer rim protection, and most importantly they use D-Link chains instead of the cables. Cables are essentially a cost-effective way to stay legal when chains are required by law, but they won't provide nearly the same amount of traction you're going to see with link-style chains.
Attached are review videos for both style of chains for you to check out.
