Can The Electric Trailer Brake Wiring Cross On The Rear Axle Instead Of The Front Axle?

Question:

Hello , I have a tandem axle trailer with electric brakes. Wondering if I can wire it from front left brake to left rear brake then across rear axle to rear brake then to front brake? Will it operate properly that way? Thank you

Expert Reply:

Yes, you can run the 12 Gauge Black Primary Wire # 12-1-1 in the manner that you have described. From the front left brake to the rear left brake, then across the rear axle to the right side rear and front brakes. The brakes will continue to operate properly in this orientation.
