My RV fan will come on but the vent wont open. I put a new motor in , seems like its not getting enough power to open or close vent.

Since you believe it may be a power issue I first recommend checking the voltage with a multimeter like # PT89ZR and ensuring you have 12v powering the unit. If you do then we know this isn't the cause.

The next step would be to replace the operator mechanism which controls the lifting and closing of the vent cover. For a 4900n model you would need the Replacement Operator Mechanism for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents # MA10-20281K-1AF. It could simply be the your operator is shot or the gears are too worn.

Sounds like the lift motor needs to be replaced as it's no longer able to raise the vent lid. For that you'd want the part #MA10-20270. Since you are able to lift the lid manually it wouldn't be the operator. If this were the…

The four tabs that hold the screen of the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan #MA00-04000K rotate. So what you'd need to do is rotate the tabs and you'd be able to remove the screen.
