Availability of Trailer Hitch With 1-1/4 Inch Receiver for 2022 Acura RDX Carrying Kuat Sherpa 2.0

Question:

Will a hitch for the 2022 Acura RDX eventually be available in 1 1/4 inch size? I have a Kuat bike rack that fit great on my previous hitch, there was no play when tightened. The available adapter will like result in a loose connection.

As of right now (December 2021) the 2022 Acura RDX only has Class III hitches with a 2" receiver available. That does not mean there won't be a hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver, but for now none are confirmed to fit. There are, however, some steps you could take to minimize any play with a 2" receiver, which would also mean you get the advantages of a Class III hitch.

If you get a hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C95CR you will have more options for other accessories should you choose to add them. You will also have the higher tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs to handle your bikes and bike rack. This hitch has a gloss black powder coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty.

In order to use your Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH12P, you will want the Kuat Bike Rack Shank Adapter - 1-1/4" to 2" # D101. This sleeve is specifically designed to allow your bike rack to fit in a 2" receiver. Then, to reduce any movement, you could use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches # RM-061. This hitch immobilizer will tighten down over the shank on your bike rack and the receiver to keep it stable and secure.
