Electrical Connection Options for a Powered Drive Trailer Jack
Question:
I see that I can connect the +/- connections for the electric jack to the 7-pin plug for the trailer. I also have a batter located near the front of the boat trailer that powers my electric over hydraulic brakes on the boat trailer. Can I connect the Fulton Jack to the battery for the brakes? Needless to say both brakes and jack would never be used at the same time and the in-line fuse for the jack should be sufficient to limit the electrical draw of the jack. The jack and the battery for the brakes would be right next to each other so the brake battery would be a short, simple wiring run...versus going to the trailers 7-pin connector to pull from the trucks 12v system. Would the brake batter be ok to use, if it is 12v which I need to confirm and Id assume its getting charged while the truck/trailer are connected.
