Roadmaster EZ Hook Safety Cable Anchors Compatible With Roadmaster XL Base Plates
Question:
Will these anchors work on a ford ranger with a Roadmaster 477-1 Baseplate Mounting Bracket? We had to replace our tow bar and would like to use the same base plate if possible. If they are okay to use, how are they installed on the 477-1 base plate?

Yes, even with the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 477-1, which are the XL model, you will be able to use the Roadmaster EZ Hook Safety Cable Anchors # RM-910653, or with the cables it is the Roadmaster EZ Hook Safety Cables with Anchors - 64" Long # RM-655.
That said, it isn't the base plates the EZ hook anchors are compatible with, it is the quick-disconnect crossbar they will connect to, the Replacement Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly for Roadmaster Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars # 910021-00.
The # 910021-00 is needed for the XL base plates # 477-1, and the safety cable anchors will bolt onto the bottom of the quick disconnect assembly. I have added a link below to a video review which shows how they install.
