What Do I Need To Add A 7 Way Trailler Connector To My 2022 Kia Telluride?
Question:
So I had a hitch put on my 2022 Kia Telluride a few weeks ago as I needed it for carrying a bike rack. Well, now we are looking at a little camper to take said bikes with us on camping trips. The camper we are looking at has brakes though, so I need to get a 7 way plug installed now. I didn't get any wiring originally as it was just the bike rack I was using. So I have the hitch and am really considering the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite controller. Is this a good option? And what else do I need to get this moving? Thanks for your help.

I will start by saying that the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR is definitely a great option for a brake controller. This can handle up to 6 brakes (3 axles) and has one of the cleanest looks after being installed, if not the cleanest, as only the adjustment/manual override knob will be visible. If I were in the need of a brake controller in my truck, this is absolutely the controller I would go with.
With that said, to get this powered and working properly, you will first need to start with the Curt 4 Flat # CU94FR. This is a quick and easy plug and play wiring harness and it will get the power to the trailer lights. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 will then piggyback off of this and give you the needed 7 Way plug. It also includes all the wiring, circuit breakers, and everything else needed for the install. I included an install video of this going onto a 2022 Telluride for you to check out as well.
The only part I recommend in addition to these parts is the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket # 18140. This will let you mount the 7 Way a lot easier and it will attach to the cross tube of the hitch. Definitely makes life easier.
