Recommended Crossbars and Kayak Carrying Solution for 2000 Saturn L-Series Wagon
Question:
I have a saturn 2000 L series wagon. It has roof bars that run parallel to the car. I need a cross bar or maybe two? to carry two kayaks. Where do I get the crossbar and what sort of roof rack do I need?

We offer a SquareBar kit from Thule that connects directly to the side rails on the roof of your Saturn L Wagon. The bars are part # TH712200 and you use the Evo raised rail feet # TH710401 to fit them to your factory rails.
If you prefer the aerodynamic crossbars use the same feet with the 47 inch WingBars, # TH711200 for silver or # TH711220 for black.
Once the crossbars are in place, you can use a kayak carrier like the Thule Stacker, part # TH830 if your kayaks are 10 feet long or shorter.
If your kayaks are longer than 10 feet, you would need to use two carriers like the Thule Top Deck Kayak Carrier, part # TH881.
I have linked you to the products I mentioned as well as some product demonstration videos that you might find helpful.
Bow/Stern tie-downs are included with both carriers, but I would also recommend the Malone Hood Loops, part # MPG308. The Hood Loops can be closed in the hood and rear hatch, and would provide an quick and easy attachment point for the tie-downs.
