Will the Nearest Bike Clear 2002 Honda CR-V Spare Tire with Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack
Question:
I believe the distance from the center of the hitch pin to the first bike is too small for the spare tire mounted on the back of a 2002 Honda CRV. Do you have any suggestions for a workaround?

For your 2002 Honda CR-V I recommend using a spare tire mount bike rack. That will take care of the interference issues. We have several options that will fit and I have included a link to them for you.
On the Swagman XC-Extended bike rack # S64650-EXT, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the closest wheel loop is 10-1/2 inches. The center of the wheel loop will be even further out. If the spare tire on the CR-V is off center, you can place the bike so that the rear wheel is closest to the spare so it will lessen the likelihood of interference if you decide to go with this rack.
The Thule DoubleTrack, # TH92BJ might also be an option for you because it offers plenty of clearance when folded down.
