Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2013 Ford Explorer
Question:
I have a 2017 Thor Miramar 35.2 and a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited. I want to get a flat tow setup and am looking at the Demco Stay in Play Duo for the braking, the Blue Ox BX 4330 tow bar and the Blue Ox BX2632 base plate. I believe they will work with the Miramar and Explore. I am unsure what I need for the electrical part to make everything work. Could you advise me on what is needed for the Electrical and also let me know if the items I have ed are good? Please let me know if you need more information.

Yes, we can help get you set with everything needed to flat tow your 2013 Ford Explorer with the 2017 Thor Miramar. There's at least 5 items needed for a proper flat tow setup - base plates, tow bar, safety cables, tail light wiring, and a supplemental braking system. The items you've listed are options confirmed to fit your Ford Explorer.
Base Plate - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX2632
Tow Bar - Blue Ox Acclaim Non-Binding Tow Bar, # BX4330 (includes needed safety cables)
Supplemental Braking - Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO, # SM99251 or, # DM86VR for added wireless coachlink monitor
Tail light wiring - Roadmaster 6-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, # 154-792-118158
We always recommend that you consult your vehicle specific owners manual for limitations or restrictions to flat towing. Some vehicles can be flat towed but only certain trim levels or there are restrictions with certain set-ups for others. In owners manual these are listed under "Recreational Towing". The online version for your vehicle shows this section to begin on page 302.
Please note the linked product review and installation videos I have attached below. I also linked a couple of help articles that may find of value.
