When Do Tire Chains Get Removed When Driving Between Salted and Snowy Roads
Question:
Hi, I need chains for northern Minnesota roads. Some roads have snow all year and some are heavily salted. If Im going between these roads, do I have to take off my chains each time? Im planning on ordering the # TC2324 for my 2012 Highlander hybrid 245-55/R19. Are they easy to take on and off? Thanks!

You would want take tire chains off of your vehicle when you get to salted roads where you basically can drive a normal speed. The chains will wear out quickly and damage roads otherwise but also you are limited to about 30 mph with a set of chains installed so you'd most likely want to travel quicker than that as well.
For the tire size of 245/55-19 the Konig chains part # TH2004705255 would work really well. These provide excellent traction and also are easier to install and remove to when going between the two road types mentioned. I attached an install video for these for you to check out as well.
