Recommended Option For Replacing A Dexter 2,200 Pound Torsion Axle

Question:

Trying to replace my dexter 2200lb torsion axle. I can not seem to find it on your website. Do you no longer carry them?

I may have another option for you, but we currently do not carry torsion axles, unfortunately. With that said, check out the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR1THDS01, which has the same 2,200 pound rating.

This will be quite a bit different than a torsion axle, but definitely not in any bad ways. It will allow each wheel to move independently from each other, offering a better ride, and will use AEON progressive-rate main springs that compress and become stiffer as load increases, boosting spring strength

The only downside to upgrading to these, if it can be called a downside, is that it will use the larger # L68149 inner bearing and # L66469 outer bearing, which will typically be found on a 3,500 pound axle. If you choose to go this route, you will need the Dexter # 84545UC1-EZ for an idler hub set up, or the # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K for a brakes set up. You will also need the # 23-468-469 for the brakes, and the # BRKH10B to attach the brakes.
