I have a 2012 Toyota Tacoma with the backup camera in the tailgate handle. Is there a spot for the camera in this locking handle?

Yes, there is a spot for the backup camera on your 2012 Toyota Tacoma. I have attached a photo showing where the backup camera installs in the Pop and Lock Locking Tailgate Handle, # PAL5500.

You will notice a slot in the back of the tailgate handle housing, and a small knock-out on the underside of the housing that would need to be removed.

Yes, the backup camera on your 2011 Toyota Tacoma will be moved to the new tailgate lock if you choose to install the Pop and Lock Custom Tailgate Lock, #PAL5500. This lock has a slot specifically designed to house the camera.

The 7290 that you see is a casting number. It is found on AL-KO hubs that fit #99 spindles. I found that the bearings used are #28580 which would be the inner bearing and #25580 which would be the outer bearing. For the seal use #91030.

I spoke with my contact at Pop and Lock and he told me the #PAL5500 will work for you. Here is what he emailed me: The reason the cylinder is on the opposite side is because this was our older model #PAL5300. Yes the #PAL5500 will fit this vehicle.
