When making the under hood connections to install a brake controller on a 2008 Chevy Silverado, you just have to make sure you have everything in the proper location. We actually have an FAQ article which I have linked for you that covers the under hood connections and shows you where everything goes.
The wire for power to the brake controller is located to the right of the power distribution box. The wire will attach to the left most terminal at the front of the power distribution box. The wire for 12 volt power is located beneath the power brake booster. It will go to the far right terminal at the front of the box.
The fuses for these terminals should already be present but if they are not place a 30 amp fuse in the location nearest the brake controller power wire and a 40 amp fuse in the spot closest to the 12 volt power wire terminal. Or use the legend on the lid to be sure of the correct locations.
