Gen-Y Torsion Weight Distribution Shank For Towing a Trailer With a Lifted Truck
Question:
I have a lifted truck and and I want to use the GenY torsion GY54FR with my weight distribution. Is it going to provide me enough drop?

Expert Reply:
The Gen-Y Torsion Weight Distribution Shank # GY54FR will provide you with up to 6-1/2" of drop. You will need to measure the height of your truck receiver and the height of the trailer coupler when level to determine the correct amount of drop you need. We do have the Gen-Y # GY55ZR that is capable of 9-1/2" of drop. It has the same weight rating of 400-1,100lbs of tongue weight and a trailer up to 10,000lbs.
I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution # EQ37101ET with the Gen-Y. This particular hitch is rated for trailers with 600-1,000lbs of tongue weight and up to 10,000lbs of total trailer weight.
