Will the Titan Snow Tire Chains # TC2219CAM Work on Pavement/Gravel for My 2004 Chevy Express Van?
Question:
I have a 2004 Chevy express 2500 van 10 ply tire to LT 2575R 16. These chains are meant to be put on ahead of time I assume before the snowstorm also we have a lot of side roads which are gravel that I have to go up and down to service my customers will these chains be fine on unpaved roads as well as paved roads. Do I need tensioners?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cams - Ladder Pattern # TC2219CAM will need to be put on just before the storm. Driving with the chains on bare gravel or pavement will greatly decrease the life of the chains as well as damage the surface of the road. In some municipalities, driving with chains on when there is no snow is considered illegal. After snowfall, the chains will be able to work on both pavement and gravel. Also, the Titan chains will fit your 2004 Chevy Express Van if your tire sizes are 225/75-16 or 235/75-16. I went ahead and attached an installation video if you need assistance. If you have different measurements than these sizes, feel free to respond with the size that you have so I can confirm.
As far as tensioners, it is strongly recommended but not required. The tensioners you need for these chains are the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCMA2. These will greatly decrease the time and effort it takes to install the chains.
