Is Drilling Into the Dash Required to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2013 Toyota Tundra
Question:
2013 Toyota Tundra....is it absolutely necessary to drill into the dash to install the brake controller...looking at a P3 for my horse trailer. I do have the Tow package

Proportional trailer brake controllers like the P3, # 90195, work much better than time delay controllers but one limitation is that they have to be mounted in the direction of travel and cannot be turned or tilted to the side. Because of the specifics of how they must be mounted, these mounting brackets have to be secured to where ever they are mounted which does often times require drilling.
You will also need wiring harness # 3040-P to installation the brake controller. I have included a link to a video showing a typical brake controller installation on a 2010 Tundra that might help you.
