Will the Reese M5 20,000lb 5th Wheel Hitch Fit in the Industry Standard Rails for a Reese RP30047
Question:
I currently have the 30047 16K mounted on rails in my vehicle. I am getting a new trailer with a GVWR of 16,800. Do I need to upgrade my hitch as well? Will the Reese 20k fit on the same rails?

Expert Reply:
Assuming that you carry the full GVWR then you're going to want to upgrade to a hitch with a higher capacity. Your Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30047 fits on industry standard rails, the same as the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 20,000lbs # RP30928 so this makes a great replacement and will give you the ability to carry a larger trailer in the future.
