2013 Ford Escape Brake Controller Wiring Kit Compatibility
Question:
Today I ordered the wiring kit ETBC7 and controller 39510. After researching I may should have gotten the controller HA81742B. Can you let me know if the one I ordered 39510 will work just as well or should I have ordered the HA81742B? I want to be sure I am having the correct part installed, so please respond ASAP. Thanks!

Since a brake controller is not a vehicle specific item, either the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller # 39510 and the Hayes Brake Controller # HA81742B would be compatible fit for your 2013 Ford Escape.
My recommendation would be to use the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510. This is one of our better selling brake controllers and has proven itself to be user friendly and the manufacturer has a reputation for producing a high quality product. It also offers a wider range of fine tune power adjustments as opposed to the Hayes that's a little more limiting. The # 39510 also offers an easy to ready LED monitor.
My recommendation would be to proceed with the install with your initially ordered item # 39510 brake controller.
Since the Ford Escape is not available with a factory 7-way an additional wiring harness will be needed # 118566 in order to establish a 4-pole wiring harness. Then once the 4-pole is installed it can be converted to a 7 way using the # ETBC7.
I have included links to the parts listed above and links to a few of our articles that might be helpful.
